Some of the wonderful exhibits displayed this year.

The 2010 Handforth Gardening Society Annual Village Show was held on Saturday July 16th. At, once again, St Mary's Church Hall, Handforth.  Due to the new temporary location we could not accommodate all of the usual classes. So with much regret the committee decided that for this year we would not hold the Arts and Crafts; Painting and the new Photography Sections of the show. We expect to be able to re-instate those next year.

There were two new awards in memory of stalwarts of the show.  The Brian Dunn Award was presented for the best exhibit in the dressed onions (Class 50); whilst the other was the Norma HaighTrophy for Cooking went to the exhibitor with the highest aggregate points for the cooking section.  These awards went to Joy Pagano and Sarah Wilkinson, respectively.

The Committee would like to extend their thanks to all exhibitors and judges for making the show a success.

If you missed the chance to show off your cooking skills, or show your best carrots this year then why not put a reminder in your diary for next year.  New exhibitors are always welcome and any committee member would be happy to provide any advice.

Winners collecting their well deserved prizes from Alderman Barry Burkhil.
