Handforth Garden Walks

"Handforth Garden Walks" for 2011 was held on Sunday June 26th 12.00 noon - 4.30pm.  The charge for entry will be £5, giving entry to all the gardens on offer.

We had a fabulous nine gardenders opening up their garden for the afternoon.

The Committee would like to thank everyone who helped, not only the people who opened their gardens, but the tea and cake makers, ticket and plant sellers and of course all the people who visited. At the time of writing we have raised £760 with more to come. This will be divided equally between our 3 charities and will help them enormously.

Pictures from the day can be seen here.

Enjoy some time being 'led up the garden path' by the members of our Society and their friends. They want to share the great pleasure that they obtain from their gardens and at the same time raise much needed funds for very worthwhile causes in our local community.

Some of the gardens on display demonstrate a particularly great commitment but the owners of most will not claim them to be remarkable. Nevertheless, each one is unique and tended with a joy and loving care which we hope that you will sense as you visit them.

With one or two exceptions, most of the gardens are within an area which would make it possible for them to be visited by means of a comfortable walk around the Village. For the benefit of those visiting from outside the area, a map can be provided that shows the positions of public car parks. Generally, there is no restriction on street parking but we would request that, if visiting individual gardens by car, you should park with consideration for the neighbours and if necessary, park some distance away.

Many of our members are dog lovers. However, out of consideration for all visitors, the gardeners and the dogs themselves, we would request that only guide dogs should be admitted. Unless otherwise stated in the particulars of the individual gardens, there will be wheelchair access to some parts of each garden.

In certain gardens there are plants for sale and refreshments offered.
